Recrea is an urban furniture system designed to encourage creative play and social interaction: modular spaces where children can invent adventures, play freely, and safely. A place where the little ones can explore and have fun, while adults can watch with peace of mind, knowing that everything is designed for their well-being.
Recrea was created from the need to design a playground adaptable to different public spaces, capable of fostering interaction among children, stimulating creativity and collaborative play. A play area that ensures safety and order, including storage solutions for objects and play tools, while also providing comfortable spaces for adults to be present in a relaxed setting.
The goal is to create a functional and dynamic environment, where fun blends with social interaction and the well-being of all participants.
The structure is composed of modules that can be combined with one another—sandboxes, platforms, planters, and benches—allowing for multiple configurations based on the context and the needs of the public space.
The sandboxes encourage children’s playful and sensory activities, while raised elements such as planters and benches introduce level variations, incorporate natural features, and provide resting areas for both adults and children. The organic geometry of the modules allows for a harmonious and flexible arrangement, transforming the space into a safe, inclusive, and continuously reconfigurable play landscape.
